If it were doable to edit my earlier reply I'd alter the introduction on the “Oval P” stamp to study “not identified until eventually 1910 or later.” Therefore the 1913 day is a good in good shape.

The end result was a fresh line of guns which replaced many of the more mature products in 1963–1964. The fast response from the shooting push and community was overwhelmingly destructive: the popular verdict was that Winchester experienced sacrificed good quality for the “cheapness authorities,” and Winchester was no longer thought of as a prestige manufacturer, causing a marked loss of market share. For barrels & receivers manufactured after 1905: Receivers possessing the “WP” evidence but no “WP” or “Oval P” proof about the barrel would suggest the barrel was changed outside of Winchester employing a pre-1905 barrel.
